Celebrating Healthcare Excellence: MCHHS Annual Meeting & Banquet

Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems (MCHHS) held their annual meeting and banquet on April 22nd at the Beloit Country Club. As a trusted community partner, transparency and accountability are crucial. Our annual report serves as a comprehensive reflection of our accomplishments, challenges, and impact to the communities we serve. This information was shared through a celebratory approach to showcase the dedication, resilience, and achievements of our healthcare professionals, bringing together stakeholders representing each of our Boards and Councils made up of members of the community.

Brent Cunningham, Board of Trustee Chair, presented the welcome speech and introduced the board members, which were all present: Chris Mondero, Vice Chair; Brad Eilert, Treasure; Jerica King, Secretary; Jim Johnson, Christine Marozas, and new member Braden Hake. Brent shared on behalf of the Board, “It’s truly inspiring to witness the positive transformations and remarkable achievements of 2023. I am most proud of the development of our team leaders; ownership of goals has increased, employee turnover is the lowest it has been in 10 years, and the Board’s perspective is a feeling of “calm” because we have full confidence in our leaders to make the best decisions for our hospital. I feel everything is going in the right direction with great community, physician, and leadership support. I am proud to be a board member and proud of MCHHS.”

The evening highlighted more than just financial statistics, which engaged and inspired the attendees. Through the individual presentations, testimonials, and success stories, the hospital's achievements were showcased, focusing on patient experience, new service lines, and dedicated employee service.

Rhonda, a long-standing employee, shared her reflection on the past 46 ½ years and excitement for the significant improvements that have been made in the last year. She stated, “I am honored to be a part of MCHHS.”

Landen and Nicki Cleveland, members of the Patient and Family Advisory Council, shared their heartfelt story, expressing sincere appreciation towards MCHHS. They vividly recounted the moment when Nicki experienced sudden cardiac arrest, emphasizing the hospital’s pivotal role in their lives.

Annual reports of each committee were presented by Vickie Mears, Mitchell County Hospital Auxiliary President; Brian Dillner, Mitchell County Hospital Endowment President; Shelby Bohnert, Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation Executive Director; Luigi Gavino, Finance Committee CFO, and Solomon Valley Hospice. The presenters reflected on each page of the annual report, showcasing the array of accomplishments and notable achievements.

Janelle Kircher, CEO, expressed her gratitude to each committee for their support of MCHHS, invaluable devotion of time and impactful contributions. She reflected on the past year, reminding us of the persistent dedication and tireless efforts of the professional team, the commitment of those who make up different councils, and the invaluable support from the community. Janelle stated, “Our mission defines why we do what we do, gives us purpose, and leads us to our true intent.”

As the evening ended, a sense of optimism and anticipation for the future was felt. The banquet serves not only as a review but also as a vision for what lies ahead reinforcing the hospital's commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. The banquet was a celebration of healthcare excellence and a testament to the dedication of those who work tirelessly to promote the well-being of others.
