Mitchell County Hospital Health System’s CNO is the 2024 Official Medical Speaker for Nex-Gen’s Career EXPLORation Day

Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Chief Nursing Officer, Nicki Cleveland, was the official medical speaker for the 2024 Nex-Gen’s Virtual Junior High Career Fair on Wednesday, January 24th. The Career EXPLORation day consisted of five speakers from various companies and career paths. This opportunity gives students career ideas at an early age so they can start planning for their futures after high school.

Nicki Cleveland, CNO, shared, “We love being a part of educating students on the medical field and all the opportunities that exist. Sparking interest and being able to help guide and answer questions for students is vital for the next generation of healthcare.” She also shared what education and training looks like for various medical careers.

Early exposure to healthcare careers guides students into a career path of their interest and that is why MCHHS invests in opportunities for local students to obtain early exposure. From the teddy bear clinic, Nex-Generation Internship Program to student shadowing opportunities, MCHHS hopes to encourage student’s interests and guide them into the medical field.
