The Sunflower Award at MCHHS
The Sunflower Award was created to recognize clinical staff who go above and beyond in their performance in providing exceptional care. Sunflower Award nominees consistently display skill, compassion, kindness, dedication and enthusiasm – exemplifying the kind of person that our patients, their families and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model. We are proud to announce that our Sunflower Award Honoree is Ryan Shrader, CNA. His nomination stated, “I am proud to submit a nomination for Ryan Shrader, Acute CNA, for the Sunflower Award. Ryan is truly a natural when it comes to patient care. His bedside manner is one of which cannot be taught, as he is remarkably skilled at making patients feel comfortable and cared for. He encompasses great customer service qualities, including compassion, being a true role model of our MCHHS mission, vision, and values. Not only do his patients love him, but his coworkers also do. He is the first to lend a helping hand, takes care of patients like they are his family and has a positive attitude and demeanor. Ryan goes above and beyond to make sure not only the patients are cared for, but also the team, not leaving until all work is completed. Ryan is committed to having a career in healthcare, and we are blessed he is on our team!”
We would like to recognize the other employees nominated for The Sunflower Award during this period. Nominees were Kim Budke, Occupational Therapist; Lance Cheney, Pharmacist; Debbie Delvalle, RCC Social Services Designee; Rebecca Kats, CNA; Phyllis Shurts, Medical Technologist; and Aubree Whelchel, Acute CNA.
Employees may be nominated by providers, patients, family / visitors, volunteers and MCHHS employees. Online nominations can be made at www.mchks.com/EmployeeRecognitionAwards. Awards are presented twice a year.
Janelle Kircher, MCHHS Chief Executive Officer states, "Ryan's excellence in his clinical role isn't just his technical skill; it's a reflection of compassion and commitment. His interactions brighten the lives of both his patients and his teammates, leaving a lasting mark of kindness.”
